Members of Keith Bowling Club play bowls year round, with the outdoor season running from April to September following which they convert to indoor short carpets bowls. During the indoor season Keith members practice and take part in fun and friendly competitive nights on Wednesday evenings at 7pm, with some additional Saturdays if people wish. Members can also choose to play bowls in Grange and Drummuir Halls where they also have their own fun competitive nights, with Drummuir meeting on Tuesday evenings at 7pm and Grange on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Most members then tend to come back together in Keith to use the green for the outdoor season.
Keith Bowling Club tend to keeps things as fun, friendly and informal as possible with members having access to the green and carpets as well as an honesty fridge with soft drinks at any time they wish, not just on practice nights. There is also no formal kit required unless you wish to take part in competitions or play on behalf of the club when a bowling top and black or grey trousers are required. The Club also has plenty of bowls for you to use thanks to a grant they received. This gives people the opportunity to try out the sport without having to buy equipment. Many people tend to go on and buy their own bowls once they have been playing a while.
Anyone is welcome at the club, whether they are a member or not, and even if it’s just for a drink and chat. You don’t have to play bowls. However, if you would like to join, the yearly fees are as follows, with a special half price introductory rate for the first year for new bowlers :
Full adult membership including indoor and outdoor bowls : £70
Adult indoor only bowls : £35 for Keith, £25 for Drummuir and Grange £20
Family membership for 2 adults and up to 3 children living at the same address for indoor and outdoor bowls : £140. There is no minimum age, a current member has been coming since she was 5, to play bowls as long as younger children are supervised by a parent/guardian. Older Primary/Grammar School children are welcome without supervision but with permission.
Full child membership including indoor and outdoor bowls : £25
Child indoor only bowls : £10
Full senior member including indoor and outdoor bowls : £65
Senior indoor only bowls : £30
Associate member allows you to book the club for functions and to take guests with you : £15
