Local primary schools brighten up Keith with beautiful artwork

InKeith

In KEITH, run by Keith & Strathisla Regeneration Partnership, recently ran an art competition for all primary schools in the Keith ASG.  Over 200 entries from Newmill, Botriphnie, St. Thomas’ and Keith Primary School were received.

The artwork featured the children’s favourite Keith landmarks, and following a long deliberation a winner from each school was chosen as well as one overall winner.  Euan Stables, aged 11 from Keith Primary captured Strathisla Distillery beautifully and was crowned overall winner.  The artwork from Euan and the individual school winners have been turned into huge posters which are now displayed in Keith, along with approximately 50 other entries being turned into stickers which can now be seen in the windows and on the doors of the empty shops in Keith.

The posters and stickers certainly make a big difference to Keith and KSRP would like to thank all of the children and their teachers for taking the time and effort to create such beautiful artwork showcasing our local landmarks.  All children who entered were given a small token of appreciation as well as prizes for the winner and runners up.

KSRP would also like to thank Ricky Scott of Stick Em Up Stickers for making and erecting the stickers, and to Thingymijigs for sponsoring the prizes.

This was all made possible by Keith & Strathisla Regeneration Partnership successfully securing Scotland Loves Local and Beatrice Wind Farm funding.  This funding has allowed a campaign to attract customers back to our shops from 26th April when lockdown eases to be put in place, and along with the art competition Keith’s favourite Scots words have also been put on display in order to promote the fact that Keith is the First Scots Toun, as well as the £100 shopping voucher incentive being run, which many of you will have received.  Over 9000 flyers are being delivered by Royal Mail to every house in AB55, 54, 56 and 38 to attract shoppers to Keith and Fife-Keith to shop.
