‘Back to the 80’s’ for Ladies Night

half circle
The Keith Charity Ladies Night has become an annual event that is so popular it needs no advertising. Karren Forsyth, Kerry Forrest, Narelle Milne and Diane Barbour first took it upon themselves to start the Ladies Night back in 2014. They wanted to organise an amazing night out for ladies while raising funds for well deserved local charities. No one can argue that they haven’t done this as tickets are immediately snapped up, and to date they have raised £38,000 for local charities.

The 17th November 2018 once again saw the four ladies put together another amazing night, in aid of Keith Cancer Link and Keith Loft Youth Project, with the charities benefiting from the amazing total of £9,900.

The night was relocated to Keith Royal British Legion and had a Back to the 80’s theme. Included in the ticket price was a welcome drink, topless butlers, prosecco, Scarlet Diamante drag act, DJ Pele, a cone of chips from Fish and Chips to go and entry into a £200 cash prize draw. Moray Photo Booths, two local dancers called Zoe and Amber who are currently studying dance at Aberdeen University, Jordan Young from River City, Jacob Roberts from Hollyoaks and a returning favourite, Emmerdale Star, Anthony Quinlan were also in attendance. There were also raffles, lucky squares and stars, and golden envelopes all with amazing prizes including £150 Malmaisson voucher, Champagne and Gin hampers, £100 Tesco vouchers, photo shoot, distillery tours, golf rounds, money and a Michael Kors bag, to name a few.

Another highlight of the night was the amazing items that were up for auction. These were all donated and included 3 signed celebrity pictures, a tour of the Emmerdale set, a tour of the River City set, a luxury booze and food hamper with £150 of local shopping vouchers, hire of Current Affair for one night, a weekend stay in Aviemore and Landmark passes, a luxury spa day at Shears Retreat and fizzy afternoon tea at Square Roots, and a hotel stay in Inverness with panto tickets. In addition to donating prizes for the auction a number of local businesses donated money to the total raised, as well as The Royal Hotel providing accommodation for the celebrities, Saltire Wedding and Executive Hire providing transport for the celebrities, Simply Delicious providing the buffet food for the meet and greet as well as Gail from Seating Styles helping with the decorations.

For one lucky lady and seven of her friends the night was made even more special when she won a private hour long meet and greet with Jordan, Jacob and Anthony. Included in the prize was prosecco, gin, nibbles and a photo package.

In addition to the night itself there were also competitions beforehand to win a night at Aberdeen Altens Hotel plus £200 spending money, Golden Circle tickets for Little Mix and four tickets plus cocktails to Ladies Night.

Karren, Kerry, Narelle and Diane would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped them to raise such an amazing amount of money as well as to Carol and staff at Keith Royal British Legion, staff from the Keith Loft, to John MacLeod from Moraylight who took candid photos throughout the night, to all the local businesses who helped out and made donations as the event wouldn’t be possible without their generosity and kindness, to Kerry and Karren’s mum June, for selling raffles, to Joeanne for all her help before, during and after the event, and to all of their friends and family for all of their help including making props, collecting raffles and butlering on the night. However, I think the biggest thanks should go to Karren, Kerry, Narelle and Diane for putting on such an amazing night and for raising so much money for local charities. Thank you.

SURPRISE

Although Karren, Kerry, Narelle and Diane said this would be the last year of ladies night, much to many ladies delight, they have had a change of heart and are already organising next years event. Next years event will be on 30th November 2019 at Keith Royal British Legion. The theme will be Viva Las Vegas and the chosen charities are KERBS and Keith Cancer Link. Tickets will be on sale from the Legion from 1pm on Sunday 3rd March so get that date in your diaries ladies.
