Volunteers Week at tsiMORAY

Volunteers Week at tsiMORAY

Volunteers Week (You Make the Difference!) gets underway 1st-7th of June and tsiMORAY wants to help you celebrate, learn and of course recognise your incredible volunteers.

Get Out of Your Office…and into Someone else’s…
We are looking for volunteer co-ordinators/managers who want to engage in a day or half day of peer learning — kind of like a swap — you go to someone else’s place to see how volunteers are involved in their service and then they come to you. At the end, we’ll be capturing what you have learned. If you are interested in taking part on June 1, 2, 5, 6, please email susan@tsimoray.org.uk.
TSI Moray will cover any travel expenses incurred.
(And yes, Sue is up for a swap!!)

PVG Training – Ask the Experts, Tuesday 6th June, 9.30am-3pm, Small Inkwell, Elgin
Volunteer Scotland is coming to Elgin to run essential PVG training. This is your chance to understand the why’s, when’s and how’s of PVG’s. If you have had any queries or questions about the PVG scheme this is your chance to get the answers from the experts! Please email info@tsimoray.org.uk to book

A National Recognition Scheme for Adult Volunteering – Road Test the National Ideas! Wednesday 7th June, 1.30-3.30pm, Williamson Hall, Duff Avenue, Elgin
How do we formally recognise adult volunteering? Is it through certificates, badges, qualifications or do we need something else?
Many organisations have identified a gap in our national recognition and celebration of volunteering: while we have Saltire Awards for 12-25 year olds, there isn’t a similar national volunteering recognition scheme for anyone outside of this age bracket.
With support from the Big Lottery Fund, Voluntary Action Scotland and Volunteer Glasgow we have a few designs ready to be tested in this specific workshop and we need your feedback.
Your thoughts are so important, but space is limited for this workshop, we ask that you book the workshop through our Eventbrite here.

Postcards that make a Difference…
tsiMORAY has produced some pretty nifty ‘thank you’ post cards for you to send to your volunteers in celebration of Volunteers Week. This is an opportunity for you to tell your volunteers they make a difference in a personal and simple way. The postcards are for you and your volunteers, so they are with our compliments, and you can pick them up from our office on Friday 26th May or we can get them to you if you can’t come to us!

Of course, if you have a story you would like to share about your volunteers or a volunteer please also let us know, we are looking to share these in the wider community and press for Volunteer’s Week. Contact susan@tsimoray.org.uk
